We were approached by our clients at a very early stage when they were looking for a plot of land within the Aberdeenshire area. The client resided in Denmark and planned to return to a new home in this area. We assisted the client in the purchase of this plot which already had planning permission for a large dwelling and detached garage. We carried out a concept stage in order to move forward with submitting a house type substitution to Aberdeenshire Council. Thereafter we produced building warrant drawings and successfully obtained a building warrant after negotiating many complex elements with Building Standards.

A full competitive tender stage was carried out, a detailed specification was prepared between IDD and the client to ensure the most inclusive tender return was produced. The construction stage commenced in 2014 with a local contractor to the Tarves area being appointed. IDD were heavily involved with designing and assisting with the curved walnut timber stair and bespoke external doors that were manufactured in Latvia. We also assisted the client with the designs and specifications for the kitchen and bathrooms. Later in the construction phase we re-designed the central wood burning stove and stone surround which is shown below.
